Beautiful weather drew crowds to the Kentucky Book Fair today. Not sure if size got to 5,000, but the crowds were 3 deep around lunch time. Saw old friends (Ron Elliott, Kathleen Driskell) and met some new ones (Abigail Keam, Catherine Sheet, A.H. Gabhart, and David Cross).  Thanks to Adell Kemper for all her work organizing this event.

No, not this Frankfurt Book Festival (I wish), but the Kentucky Book Festival this Saturday, 9:00 AM-4:30 PM.  Always an enjoyable pre-Christmas gift giving event.

Another great SoKYBookFest

Little did I know I'd be part of a privileged crowd of authors this year including Lynnell Edwards, Jeannine & Berkeley Scott, Ron Elliott, Robert Farley, and Robert Givens.  Oh, and there was a pretty decent crowd of fans circumventing the conference center for Diane Gabaldon and Terry Brooks. Should Rand Paul win the presidency, I can taut that I sat down the aisle from the First Lady at a book signing.  Probably why she got an aisle seat while myself and 2 other authors scrunched together in an oblong table :)

2015 Sokybookfest

Looking forward to another great book festival in Bowling Green this morning (9-3).  Anyone coming back from Florida spring breaking, should stop by WKU's Knicely Conference Center and get a jump start on your summer reading list :)  Hope to run into Erin Walton once again...

Bellarmine Veritas class

A big thank you to Sandra Cherry, an instructor at Bellarmine University's Veritas continuing education department for inviting me to her class this morning.  She spent 6 weeks having her class break down chapters  within More than Petticoats:Remarkable Kentucky Women for further research and discussion. One student cold called Mary Miller Garretson's step greatgrandchild for a personal interview!  With only 1 lone male, the rest of the class was dubbed "Harry's Harem."

Southern Kentucky Book Festival this weekend

It may be Thunder time in Louisville, but the swell of authors (including this one) heading to the Southern Kentucky Book Festival in Bowling Green will create its own storm of sorts.  Book lovers and book writers descend on the Carroll Knicely Conference Center this tomorrow (writer's conference) and Saturday (book fair).  Kristie Lowry and her staff do an outstanding job treating authors well.  Hey, maybe I'll sit next to Happy Days' Fonzie or Erin Walton of The Waltons? Ironic that I grew up watching both shows and now their stars are writing books :)  Right by the Corvette factory so maybe Tony Blake will show up??
